Have a movie night in
This is a great idea if you are short on cash, or have only been dating for a couple of weeks/months. This idea just involves the two of you snuggled up on the sofa watching your favourite movies. Get some food in as well and maybe a glass or two of wine/beer and you are set. Sweets and popcorn are my go to, you can even mix them together for an “I literally made this 2 minutes before you arrived but I had it planned for weeks”.
Add melted chocolate to toffee popcorn to make it even better! If you have a printer, use Pinterest to print off a cute little movie night vouchers as well to make it look like you really put in some effort, saving you lots of pennies.

Try a restaurant both of you have never tried before
You can either splurge or save money with this. For this last minute valentines day ideas that won’t break the bank, you can be adventures and try a ridiculously expensive restaurant, dress to the 9’s and order the most expensive thing on the menu. OR you could save a few bucks and pick a restaurant that is close to you that you have been meaning to try and never got around to it. Some places ask you to book in advance as its valentines day. Usually, you can book online though. Just bear this in mind before you head on out, it doesn’t hurt to check.
Zizzi is doing a special valentines offer where it will cost £19.95 for three courses. And Greggs is offering three courses complete with candelabras and white tablecloths for £15, which I’m pretty sure you have never tried before!

Enjoy a breakfast date
I love breakfast dates, there’s something so nice about getting up early heading out and having the best breakfast and coffee to start the morning too. My fav breakfast is Bills it can be a bit pricey though. If going out isn’t your thing and you really want to save some money then make breakfast for your other half in bed, or make breakfast together. You can pop to your local supermarket and grab ingredients, you can make pancakes for about £5. This is a great idea again if your short on cash, and will make valentines day feel extra special for your other half.
Host a game night
This would be great as a last minute valentines day ideas that won’t break the bank. You can either do it with just the two of you or make it a double/triple date night. Pick someone’s house to host the game night and bring a bottle or two of wine (cheaper than going to the pub). Even make it into a dinner and games night. Pro Tip: make this even cheaper for each couple by bringing a different dish, one couple bring a starter, one bring main and one bring dessert. Get lots of different games, my favourite is ‘Cards Against Humanity’,’Cluedo Board Game‘ and ‘Boggle’. Buying them on Amazon gives you next day delivery or you could pop to the range or toy store near you. So buy today or tomorrow and it will arrive in time for the 14th. Spend Valentine’s day with friends and have a laugh.

This is a great idea if you have been together for a long time. It brings back all the feels. Go back to the place where you first met or had your first date and get all mushy and sentimental. It also saving you lots of money (as long as you didn’t meet in a Michelin star restaurant).
My husband and I are going to have a movie night in this year. We need to save a few pennies and this will be a perfect last minute valentines day ideas that won’t break the bank. I think we will also make dinner together and lay the table all romantic. We don’t really do cards or presents.
